Chapter 1- Through the Wall of Clouds “Twitch. Tet, tet…,” said the old woman as the wind caught sand falling from her fingers and carried it, along with her strange murmurs, up a grassy dune to a girl- the girl who watched boats come in.

Chapter 2- Each To A Task The tangled kelp rose and sank repeatedly within the bubbling seafoam before washing onto the sand where the old woman waited.

Chapter 3- The Place You Know But Not How My Nana said, as she stroked clumps of sweaty hair from across my baby brother’s forehead, that even babes had a place they knew and didn't know how.

Chapter 4- The Sea of Things The Sea of Things is what Nana called the ocean we saw in the distance from the second story windows of our house.

Chapter 5: A Thing in A Tree The townspeople traded troubled looks whenever the old woman appeared, barefoot and mumbling, burs sticking out of her matted hair.

Chapter 6- What the Heart Requires While humans could not see their thoughts, stars could. In fact, they often became quite dizzy tracking such human thinking- neural sensory, emotion and action colliding into a single thought. Such could put a star off center if not minding their own distance.
